Ebro Spin Fishing June 2016
The summer in Spain is hot. At the end of June 2016, I made a two weeks trip to the Ebro spending the days at the sea coast and fishing the river in the night. The temperatures were brutal with up to 40 degrees at the day and up to 30 degrees in the night. The fishing at such temperatures was quite a difficult task. The river was covered with weed making the boat drive in the night a nightmare. The fish activity was not at its best considering it was a time after the cat spawning was finished and the activity of smaller cats was expected. However, the activity was reduced to one or two fish attacks per day. Luckily for us, the cats we could catch were properly sized. Together with my brother, we managed to catch 7 cats over 2 meters in length (2.37m, 2.36m, 2.31m, 2.31m, 2.30m, 2.23m, 2.15m) and a number of smaller cats and zanders!!!
