Goran Panić
My name is Goran, and I come from a family with a deep-seated passion for fishing—a tradition passed down through three generations, from my grandfather to my father, and then to my brother and me.
I began fishing at the age of five, catching trout and chub in the streams and rivers of central Bosnia, where I was raised. At fifteen, I moved to my father’s homeland of Serbia. There, my fishing became more active and technical as I experimented with a wide range of artificial lures. I spent memorable times at my grandparents’ house in Djerdap National Park, on the banks of the Danube, targeting catfish and zander.
Since 2002, I have lived and worked in Frankfurt (Oder), a city in eastern Germany blessed with beautiful natural surroundings. Its numerous lakes and two rivers, the Oder and the Spree, offer exceptional fishing opportunities. I specialize in spin fishing, primarily targeting predatory species like catfish, zander, pike, and perch.
Fishing remains a cherished hobby for me and a cornerstone for family connection. I frequently join my brother and father on fishing trips, both in our homelands and abroad. While I pursue it recreationally, my brother has made it his profession. He operates the Riverside Lodge fishing camp on Spain’s River Ebro, a renowned paradise for large catfish and zander, where I spend most of my fishing holidays.
I occasionally contribute articles to fishing magazines and am an active member of several fishing-focused communities on social media.
