Goran Panic

Hi, I’m Goran! I come from a family of passionate fishermen. The love for fishing had been passed from my grandfather to my father, and later on, from my father to my brother and me. I made my first fishing steps as a 5-year old boy. Back then I was fishing for trout and chubs on the streams and rivers of central Bosnia, where I grew up. When I turned fifteen, I moved to Serbia, the land of my father. At that time I started to fish more actively experimenting with all kinds of artificial lures. I was having a great time at my grandparents\’ house, located in the Djerdap national park, directly at the Danube coast, fishing for cats and zanders. Since 2002, I’ve been living and working in Frankfurt (Oder), a small city in Eastern Germany, surrounded by beautiful nature, plenty of lakes and two rivers, Oder and Spree, all of them offering excellent possibilities for fishing. Generally, I practice only spin fishing, targeting the predators such as catfish, zander, pike or perch. Often I get together with my brother and my father, going on family fishing trips, either in my homeland or abroad. For me, fishing is only a hobby, while my brother is doing it for a living. He has settled on the river Ebro in Spain, a paradise for large catfish and zanders, running the Riverside Lodge fishing camp, where I\’ve been spending most of my fishing holidays. Occasionally I write articles for fishing magazines and I’ve been active in several fishing-related groups on social media.
